Commodore ABS part numbers
This week started off as a cracker, had a WK Caprice come in with a Traction control light that was not working, when the button next to the shifter was depressed.
The operation of the VY commodore, when pressing the TRAC button the TRAC OFF should change in the instrument cluster similar to that when pressing the PWR button.
This vehicle did have traction control as the button was present and also the 6 pipes on the ABS pump block where present, but the TRAC button and accelerator retarder did not work, after setting up the Tech2 on to the vehicle, it was found that the Tech2 could not communicate as the coding was wrong, we then set up the scan tool for a commodore V6 and the Tech2 connected we found fault 62 RPM sensor error, checked the RPM and at idle it was 275RPM instead of 650RPM,
This was strange and we thought to check the instrument cluster and found that no engine type had been selected and then found this did not make any difference to the operation of the ABS/ESP function once the GEN3 V8 was programmed into cluster.
we then rang suppliers and tried to cross over the part number of the abs module in the vehicle which was 0 273 004 485, the suppliers could sell us one, but the listings that the suppliers had could not tell us what it fitted, assuming that the abs part number was wrong, we rang the dealership and they had told us that the vehicle was not factory fitted with traction with a part number of 92 145 802, (typical dealer level software being wrong) however the vehicle did have a traction control button and was set up to have traction control looking at the amount of brake pipes etc. they then gave us 92 147 283 this then was able to be crossed over to the right Bosch part number of 0 237 004 962, this was then fitted and we had the best job of all, which was to try and do a burn out. and found that operation of TRAC on and of was operational.
after trawling the internet for a bit a website was found from justcommodores.com.au

As this was a frustrating few weeks trying to identify the unit and get hold of one I have compiled the following information to assist anyone else trying to sort out their ABS problems.
You need to match the number on your module to the replacement (unless it has been superseded – check with Holden) or you will have issues.
Feel free to correct or add to this list if you want to – it may help someone else.

CLEARING DTCs
Any DTCs stored in the ABS/ETC control module’s memory can be erased in one of three ways:
- Diagnostic Request Line Procedure.
- TECH 2 Clear Codes Selection.
- Ignition Cycle Default.
These three methods are detailed as follows.
IMPORTANT: Whichever method is used, be sure to verify proper system operation and absence of any DTCs when clearing procedure is completed. The ABS/ETC control module will not permit DTC clearing until all of the codes have been displayed. Also, DTCs cannot be cleared by unplugging the ABS/ETC control module, disconnecting the battery cables, or turning the ignition OFF (except on an ignition cycle default).
